Climate Change Conference Call for New Mexicans

Our Future

March 12th, 2pm (MST)
Conference Call (712) 432-3100, code 253385

To all New Mexico students, faculty, staff and community members:
Climate and clean energy policy is one of the defining issues of our time, stirring nationwide debates across college campuses and in Congress.

On behalf of Professor Bruce Milne, Department of Sustainability Studies at University of New Mexico, we invite you to join the conversation on climate change by participating in a statewide conference call on Friday, March 12th at 2:00 pm MST, with the offices of New Mexico Senators Jeff Bingaman and Tom Udall.

The call will begin with a briefing by a New Mexico student discussing current statewide engagement on campus with climate issues. Jonathan Black and Andrew Wallace will then discuss positions on clean energy and climate policy from Senators Bingaman and Udall. After these two introductory briefings they will then respond to student questions and concerns.

Be part of this critical educational dialogue on climate change by submitting questions for Senators Jeff Bingaman and Tom Udall to climate@bard.edu and by calling (712) 432-3100, code 253385 at 2:00pm MST on Friday, March 12th. All those who submit questions will be automatically entered in a raffle to win a free case of Clif Bars!

While the call is designed to connect campus to the Senate, interested community members are welcome to send in their own questions, and join the call as well. Please help spread the word and also send us the contact information for others in New Mexico so that we can engage the maximum number (500) New Mexico students, faculty, staff and citizens with Senators Bingaman and Udall on the call on Friday, March 12th.

Let’s Talk is coordinated by the Bard Center for Environmental Policy as part of a national initiative connecting campus to congress. Follow us on Twitter and on our Facebook page!

Please contact us with any questions at climate@bard.edu. We look forward to talking with you!
